This Privacy Policy explains how PawSignal handles information when you use the PawSignal mobile app and public website at pawsignal.xyz.
PawSignal is designed as a pet behavior-cue journal for dogs and cats. It helps you turn pet photo check-ins into visible posture, expression, body-language cues, likely behavior signals, care notes, and follow-up questions. PawSignal is not veterinary diagnosis.

Information You Provide
You may provide:
- Pet profile details, such as name, species, breed, age stage, lifestyle, and health notes.
- Photos selected for pet mood and body-language analysis.
- Journal entries, AI analysis results, assistant messages, and feedback.
- Optional local settings, privacy preferences, and app configuration state.
- Support messages you send to us.
- Purchase and subscription information handled through App Store or Google Play.
Local Journal Data
PawSignal stores journal data on your device so you can review pet profiles, photo check-ins, analysis history, assistant context, credits, entitlements, and privacy controls.
Photos and pet avatars saved for your journal are stored locally on your device. Removing the app or clearing local app data may remove local journal data from that device.
Local app data may include pet profiles, photo and avatar file paths, analysis history, assistant messages, assistant threads, feedback, credit ledger entries, entitlement cache, usage events, ad events, purchase receipt cache, growth events, experiment assignments, sync cursors, and app settings.
AI Analysis Uploads
When you request an AI pet check-in, the selected photo data, request context, and saved pet profile facts used as AI context may be sent to PawSignal backend services. Pet profile context can include name, species, breed, age stage, lifestyle, care notes, health notes, and similar saved profile facts. The backend calls AI services to generate a cue-based result.
AI results may include likely mood signals, behavior signals, evidence tags, visible body-language cues, confidence context, risk level, next steps, and care recommendations. These outputs are probabilistic and should not be treated as medical diagnosis.
Assistant Questions
When you ask PawSignal Assistant a question, your question and saved pet profile context may be sent to PawSignal backend services so the assistant can answer in context. When Pro assistant pet memory is active, limited recent journal context may also be sent for deeper follow-up.
Do not use PawSignal for emergency care. If your pet may be injured, poisoned, in pain, severely ill, or showing worsening symptoms, contact a licensed veterinarian.
Why We Process Information
We process information to:
- Provide pet photo check-ins, behavior-cue analysis, journal history, and assistant responses.
- Maintain pet profiles, app settings, credits, subscriptions, and entitlement state.
- Verify purchases and restore purchases.
- Prevent duplicate credit grants, abuse, fraud, and unauthorized backend access.
- Improve reliability, product flows, and support quality using coarse event data.
- Respond to support, privacy, deletion, and legal requests.
Purchases, Credits, And Subscriptions
PawSignal may process purchase receipts, transaction identifiers, subscription status, product identifiers, and credit events to verify purchases and grant Pro or credit entitlements.
Payments are processed by App Store or Google Play. PawSignal receives purchase verification data needed to confirm access, restore purchases, and prevent duplicate credit grants.
Product Events
PawSignal may record coarse product events such as onboarding, analysis started or completed, assistant usage, paywall views, purchases, credit usage, rewarded ads, and experiment assignments.
PawSignal’s product event policy is designed to avoid storing raw photos, image bytes, prompts, user questions, assistant answers, transcripts, diagnosis text, or detailed medical notes inside growth analytics metadata.
Product event data may include event names, timestamps, status, product identifiers, placement names, credit event identifiers, experiment keys, experiment variants, and sanitized metadata.
Backend And Service Providers
PawSignal may use:
- Firebase services for app configuration, anonymous authentication, App Check, Cloud Functions, Firestore, and backend operations.
- AI providers through PawSignal backend services for analysis and assistant responses.
- App Store and Google Play services for purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and receipt verification.
- AdMob for ads and rewarded credit flows where available.
These providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
On iOS, PawSignal requests App Tracking Transparency permission before loading rewarded ads that may use data for tracking. If permission is declined, PawSignal may continue with limited or contextual ad behavior where available.
Anonymous App Identity
PawSignal may use Firebase anonymous authentication for backend authorization. This creates an app identity without requiring a traditional account sign-up.
Anonymous identity helps PawSignal authorize backend requests, verify purchases, protect the service, and associate backend commercial records with an app installation or user session.
Data Export And Deletion
The app includes local export preparation for journal data. Raw JSON exports include pet profiles, journal rows, feedback, and assistant messages, but they do not embed local image files or local image file paths. Image fields are represented as image presence only.
You can also contact support for deletion requests related to backend purchase, entitlement, commercial, or event data associated with your app identity.

Retention
Local journal data remains on your device until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
Backend data is retained only as long as needed for service operation, purchase verification, fraud prevention, security, legal compliance, dispute handling, analytics, or support. Some purchase and transaction records may need to be retained even after a deletion request if required for accounting, fraud prevention, chargeback handling, or legal obligations.
Data Security
We use technical controls such as backend authorization, App Check where configured, and server-side receipt verification. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Firestore client reads and writes may be restricted so backend services remain the source of truth for commerce and event records.
International Processing
PawSignal and its service providers may process information in countries or regions different from where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms for such transfers.
Your Choices And Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. To exercise rights, contact support@pawsignal.xyz.
You can also:
- Stop using AI features if you do not want selected photos sent for analysis.
- Avoid optional rewarded ads.
- Cancel subscriptions through App Store or Google Play.
- Delete local app data from your device.
Children
PawSignal is not intended for children to use without a parent or guardian.
Website
The public website is primarily informational. If analytics, cookies, forms, or support tools are added later, this policy should be updated to describe them.
Changes
We may update this policy as PawSignal changes. Material updates will be reflected on this page.
